Shiva, in Hindu Philosophy represents masculine energy, the passive, the eternal, and Shakti represents feminine energy, the active, the temporal. Every being is made of both Shiva and Shakti. One is not without the other.

The painting is displayed on the outsiide of the Tanjore Painting Presevation Club living room installation.
